10 Years anniversary banner
Ten years is a long time in the software industry. Technologies come and go, trends reshape markets, and start-ups grow into established companies. Yet one thing has remained unchanged since the day we founded our company ten years ago: our commitment to helping industrial teams make their work easier, more efficient, and more sustainable.
When we founded oculavis GmbH in 2016 as a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute and RWTH Aachen University, we were driven by a clear conviction: expert knowledge should be available wherever it is needed, whenever it is needed, directly at the machine, on the shop floor, and in maintenance operations. This vision led to the development of solutions for remote support, connected worker applications, shopfloor ticketing, and industrial knowledge management.

A Decade of Maintastic: The Numbers Behind the Journey

Over the past ten years, there is one thing we have done above all else: listened. The most valuable insights did not come from strategy workshops or the latest technology trends such as augmented reality or artificial intelligence. They came from conversations with maintenance professionals, service technicians, production managers, and technical experts. These discussions showed us the challenges that truly matter in day-to-day operations: a growing shortage of skilled workers, increasingly complex equipment, rising documentation requirements, and the risk of losing valuable experiential knowledge.

These experiences have shaped not only our software solutions, but also the evolution of our company. In 2025, oculavis became Maintastic, not simply as a rebranding, but as the result of a clear evolution of our mission. Over the years, increasingly powerful management capabilities for tickets, assets, and workflows were added to our platform, transforming our Remote Support and Connected Worker solution into a comprehensive Maintenance Management solution.
As our platform evolved into a modern Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), the transition from oculavis to Maintastic became the natural next step. The new name reflects both our strategic direction and our category transition, underscoring our commitment to making maintenance management simpler, smarter, and more effective.
Today, our full focus is on helping companies make their maintenance processes digital, transparent, collaborative, and future-proof.
When we look back on the past ten years, it is not individual features or technologies that make us most proud. It is the principles that have proven their value through our collaboration with customers.
This approach has been a key driver of our shared success with customers. Each digitally transformed maintenance workflow, every optimized fault-resolution process, and every safeguarded piece of knowledge helps build more resilient and future-ready industrial organizations.
Maintastic - Für Techniker gemacht
Our philosophy

Maintastic – Made for Technicians.

For us, maintenance software begins with the people who depend on it every day. Technicians expect a seamless user experience, dependable mobile access, and practical features that support them in their daily work. Creating software that truly improves their day-to-day experience has been our mission for the past ten years and continues to inspire everything we do.

At the same time, we know that the challenges facing industry are more likely to grow than diminish in the years ahead. Demographic change, the shortage of skilled workers, increasing demands for availability and efficiency, and the growing importance of data and artificial intelligence are all reshaping the way maintenance is organized and managed. As a result, companies need solutions that not only meet today’s requirements but are also designed to support the challenges and opportunities of the future.
This is exactly what we are focused on at Maintastic today, as solutions like our AI Voice Agent demonstrate. Our decade of experience serves as the foundation for the innovations we are developing alongside our customers. We are not seeking to replace established expertise and proven processes. Instead, we aim to empower maintenance teams to leverage their knowledge more effectively, work more efficiently, and make smarter, data-driven decisions.
As we look to the future, our mission remains unchanged: making maintenance simpler. Everything we build is designed to help people work better, preserve valuable expertise, and unlock the full potential of modern maintenance operations.
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, there is one thing we want to say above all else: thank you. Thank you to our customers, partners, and employees who have accompanied us on this journey. Your trust has shaped our growth, challenged us to improve, and continuously inspired us to build better solutions.

Together with our customers, partners, and employees, we look forward to driving the next generation of maintenance excellence and continuing our mission to make maintenance simpler, smarter, and more effective for years to come.
